Almaty, Kazakhstan, November 7, 2023 - The Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines (KCM) is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Ruslan Baimishev as its President. This appointment is effective as of November 7, 2023, and has been officially approved by the KCM Board of Directors.
As President, Mr. Baimishev takes on a crucial role, approved by the Board of Directors. He will actively participate in Chamber activities and represent the Chamber in government and international organizations.
Mr. Baimishev brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role. He holds degrees in Jurisprudence and Geology and has an MBA with a focus on Mining Management. During his career, he played significant roles, including leading the development of the geological sector in Central Asia at the National Center for Geological Information and Natural Resources. He also served as the National Coordinator and Head of the Secretariat for the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, he held key positions in the Ministry of Investments and Development, and from 2019 to 2022, he served as the Vice-Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Baimishev's extensive background and dedication to the mining industry make him an excellent choice for President, reaffirming the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines' commitment to advancing the interests of the mining sector in the region.
