Aurora AG Limited geophysical company has expanded its technical stock with advanced hardware systems manufactured by Instrumentation GDD Inc. (Canada) and Trimble (USA). Instrumentation GDD Inc. is a world leader in the development of high-tech geophysical equipment used in solving mineral exploration, engineering and environmental tasks.

 

The set of equipment purchased by Aurora AG Limited includes a highly sensitive 32-channel GDD GRx8-32 receiver designed for high productivity resistivity and time-domain induced polarization (IP) surveys. The receiver allows to conduct electrical exploration in both 2D and 3D configurations, and in various settings - pole-pole, pole-dipole, dipole-dipole, Wenner, Schlumberger and others.

 

The ability to read the signal from 32 channels in the GRx8-32 enables us to conduct efficient and high-performance IP surveys in the most difficult field conditions. 20 different time windows provide a detailed analysis of the polarization decay curves, which allows to effectively differentiate the IP anomalies of different nature.

An integral part of the GDD IP system is the transmitter - the latest model GDD Tx4, which is an industry standard and is used all over the world for apparent resistivity and time-domain induced polarization (IP) surveys. The distinctive features of the Tx4 transmitter are the accuracy and stability of the current readings, reliability and power. The high output voltage of the GDD Tx4 allows operation with high resistance loads as well as resistive overburden. The GDD Tx4 transmitter is able to produce current with an amplitude of up to 20A.

 

Geophysical data of exceptional quality, recorded by the GDD IP system, will be processed in specialized software modules of Geosoft Oasis Montaj. For a robust inversions of chargeability and resistivity Aurora will use a full-featured 2D and 3D inversion software Res3DInv, developed by Geotomo Software.

 

Aurora AG Limited is one of the first in Kazakhstan to acquire multi-frequency satellite receivers of the latest generation Trimble R12 and will conduct topographical surveys and high-precision satellite referencing. Trimble company is the flagship of surveying and the R12 has set a new benchmark for GNSS receivers worldwide. The combination of a unique mathematical algorithm, 672-channel board and accuracy allows it to perform highly accurate survey in difficult conditions.
